Albert Einstein very rightly said that humans seek(s) to find…a simplified and lucid image of the world… and so to overcome the world of experience, by striving to replace it to some extent by that image. That is what painters do…all in their own way. And into this image …places his or her center of gravity of the emotional life, in order to attain the peace and serenity which cannot be found within the confines of swirling personal life. By writing the word/text/phrases over and over for a period of weeks/months, on metal plates and canvases, I find that a painted surface emerges where the quintessence of word and meaning can fuse to transform into a surface of ephemerality, similar to my state of mind – at that life interval.
